About WCA2001 > World Citizens Assembly 2001
Global Solidarity for a Peaceful Century

As Director of WCA 2001, I, on behalf of all committee officials, the organizer, co-sponsor, and host committees, would lkie to express my appreciation to you for your presence and active participation.

Congratulation! With our joint efforts, we have finally reached constructive conclusions for the four issues that we discussed at the World Citizens Assembly. I would like to express my gratitude to President Mattern, and all the committee officials for their efforts. WCA2001 is coming to an end, but it is just a new beginning.

From the four workshop conclusions, we can see a breakthrough for the Association of World Citizens. These represent our goals and responsibilities. In fact, what we need to do is focus on everyone on earth rather than on any particular person. The task to "unite the earth" is essential and urgent, especially for the continuously changing information world. For our descendants, whether they can find a peaceful society depends on our efforts and consensus in achieving this ideal.

We are all witness to the disasters and pain brought by wars and overcompetition due to excessive technological development. However, I believe that it is the genuine "love" deep inside human beings that has given people the strength to go through twenty centuries. Love as the motivation enables us to gather the ever-lasting life energy, which also encourages people to support one another for the future and to reach a consensus for world peace. I believe that to create a culture of peace for the 21st century will be possible because of our efforts, which will bring hope, and happy and stable life as well.

Thank you. I wish you health and all the best.
