WCA 2001 Peace Declaration Presented to the United Nations

The Peace Declaration, the result of the resolutions reached on April 2, was officially announced to the public at 2:30 pm on April 3, 2001. Witnessed by delegates from around the world, Mr. Douglas Mattern, President of the Association of World Citizens (AWC) and Chairperson of WCA 2001, Dr. Hong Tao Tze, Honorary Vice President of AWC and Director of WCA 2001, Dr. Charles Mercieca, President of the International Association of Educators for World Peace, and Dr. Rashmi Mayur, Director of the International Institute for Sustainable Future, jointly signed the Declaration. The Peace Declaration, representing the voice of 400 delegates from over 50 countries and that of peace-loving people, has been presented to the United Nations by Dr. Rashmi Mayur. This way, the consensus reached after the discussions during the Assembly, and the voice of peace-loving people were expressed. Support from the people of Taiwan, through their signatures for the Peace Declaration, were also expressed. This served to bridge a connection between Taiwan and the United Nations.
