Culture and Respect

I am a student from Armenia, which is a landlicked mountainous country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Situated at the juncture of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, it is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, the de facto independent Nagorno-Karabajk Republic and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the south.

I immigrated to USA due to family reasons. When one day I was watching American Idol on the TV and the candidate was asked a question regarding Europe. However, she thought Europe is a country instead of continent. It made me think that it is really important for individuals in the world to know the diversity of the world. People should understand the differences of cultures, nations and religious. The more people understand each other's background, the more people can learn and respect to each other.

Children education is going to be my major for next semester. Emphasizing the importance of respecting different cultures and backgrounds into children education will be part of my goals.
