Nowadays protection of the environment is very important as the world is moving in to a new era without considering any of the major problems of pollution with rapid industrialization. Every human activity today has same negative effect on our environment and its delicate balance, which includes overconsumption of resources, rapid industrialization and urbanization, increasing use and dependence on synthetic materials and last but not the bout is population boom. All this is not just harming the environment; it has always effects on human life too. The best way to protect environment is conservation. Conservation is the philosophy and policy of managing the environment to assure adequate supplies of natural resources for future well as present generation.

　First and foremost factor in my opinion to protect the environment is to control the population growth. In 1700 A.D. the global human population was 0.6 billion, in 1900 A.D. it was 1.6 billion; in 2000 A.D. it reached 6.1 billion. Today India alone has a population of 1 billion. This dramatic rise in population or population explosion has expanded our requirements not for just food, clothing and shelter but also for many more material things and luxuries. This has resulted in overexploitation of our natural resources leading to deforestation, pollution and even extinction of species causing further ecological imbalance. Conservation of all natural resources like fossil fuels, minerals, soil, water and air etc. are extremely difficult to achieve in view of demand pressure created by population burden. The individual is the building block of society. For any social or environmental cause to succeed, all individuals just join forces and follow them at personal level. The government can make plans and policies but it is the citizens who have to follow them. We can fallows few following measures to protect the environment. To consume energy we can switch off lights and power points when not in use, use compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) or low voltage bulbs, avail excessive use of cars and vehicles to prevent over consumption non-renewable sources of energy like petrol and diesel, use of compact natural gas (CNG) in motor vehicle, use of smokeless chullahs etc. As we cannot imagine life without water therefore conservation of water is must. Are should try not to waste water through the application of the following measures like-closing the takes when not in use install how flow faucets and water heads, collect rainwater in depressions, harvest rain water with simple structures etc. Food resources are decreasing day by day therefore conservation of land has become an important issue we can consume our land through plantation especially  in waste land a forestation should be done as for as possible, we should not leave our land barren when water or moisture is available, we must protect our good lands by availing excessive development works. We should discourage excessive mining activities as these activities bring infertile soil at the top. We should encourage farmers to use organic fertilizers and pesticides to maintain the fertility of soil. Air pollution has put forth the major challenge to the human being to work with. As we one experiencing dangerous environment pollutions a health hazard due to rapid industrialization and indiscriminate vehicular use. They are betting out black smoke and tonic gases in the atmosphere causing global warming and adverse affects like acid rain. Nuclear wastes are not only polluting the air but soil and water too. We can take few small but important steps to prevent air pollution like regular checking of vehicles for the quality of emissions, practices of threats reduce reuse recycle to reduce the burden of waste on the environment try to keep our locality clear and hygienic, composting of domestic wastes. Recycle products like plastic, paper, glass, metal etc. Say No to plastic bags because they are non biodegradable, we should encourage the use of bio-degradable substances like packer and cloth.
