Nuclear weapons have been opposed by agreements between countries. Many nations have been declared nuclear weapons-free-zones areas where nuclear weapons production and deployment are prohibited through the use of treaties. The court ruled that the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons would violate various articles of international law including the UN charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Nuclear disarmament refers to both the act of reducing or eliminating the nuclear weapons and to the end state of a nuclear free world in which nuclear weapons are completely eliminated. Proponents of nuclear disarmament say that it would lessen the probability of nuclear war occurring especially accidentally. Critics of nuclear disarmament say that it would undermine deterrence. Deterrence is a strategy by which govts. Threaten an immense retaliation if attacked such that aggressors are deterred if they do not wish to suffer damage as a result of an aggressive action. The little secrets about nuclear weapons is that t he fewer of them you know the more difficult it becomes to get rid of them.

1957, THE INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY (IAEA) was established under the mandate of the UN in order to encourage the development of the peaceful applications of nuclear technology provide international safeguard its misuse and facilitate the application of safety measures in its use. Nuclear weapons are said to have induced nuclear peace during cold war. Reliance on nuclear weapons for deterrence is becoming increasingly hazardous and increasingly effective. Nuclear weapons are considered weapons of mass destruction and their use and control has been a major focus of international relations policy since their delute.  Obama administration can alter the role of nuclear weapons by issuing a clear and authoritative definition of their purposes.

We should not consider this step merely a matter of declaratory policy as if it were solely for external consumption rather it should be taken as a basic choice of defense policy, the point of departure for further guidance planners. If the role of nuclear weapons cannot be constrained by issuing an authoritative policy statement then seemingly very little can be achieved in this area at all. President Mr. Barrack Obama has declared a goal of a world free of nuclear weapons but moving towards zero is going to be difficult. Mr. Barrack Obama has pledged to take concrete steps towards a world without nuclear weapons. In particular, he promised to reduce the role of nuclear weapons in our national security strategy and urged others to do the same. He has been trying to eliminate nuclear bombs while terrorists are trying to get them and its one of the way to reduce nuclear weapons and terrorism to have a world free of nuclear weapons.
