As the increase of carbon dioxide emission, the global temperature has been rising in recent years. As everyone knows that the main reason is green house effect which worsens the global warming. It has caused many abnormal phenomena, like the melting of icebergs in polar areas and the rising of areas level, which as a result causes the weird of global weather. And the rising of the sea level makes many countries drowned. The most well known one is the Republic of Maldives. Furthermore, the weird change of weather results in ecological imbalance. Such imbalance brings about extinction of many species. It is reported that the polar bear has loosen their habitat and they have to swim several miles to find their breakfast. To prevent the situation from getting worse, we must do something before it's too late. It is a big event on the whole world and no one can stay away from a matter. However, I'm just a high school student. I can make not much contribution. The only thing I can do is to start from changing some habits of my daily life. For example, riding a bike or walking to school, recycling things, stopping buying things unless it is necessary, bringing my own chopsticks and cup, taking shorter showers...etc. But I can't do them all in a short time. I'll start it step by step. First, to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide, I would take a bus to school instead of asking my parents for a ride. Second, in order to save water, I would take short showers instead of taking a bath. Third, to protect trees, I would bring my own chopsticks when I go out for meals. All in all, the top priority for everybody now is to avoid wasting energy and resources. Small acts as these are accumulation of individual efforts can make a difference in protecting the earth. In my opinion, it is never too late to take action. Indeed, we can feel the world is changing. Owing to the weird weather, the world isn't as normal as before. Thus, we have to do our best to protect the earth we live in. No matter how much time it would take from us we must make the temperature steady. If the temperature continues rising up, the world the earth will be. To preserve the better world to our children, our contribution is necessary. No matter it is big or small, our work won't be wasted. Maybe it will not show up in short time but one day maybe in an unknown future, our lovely earth will return to its natural beautiful appearance.
