It has been about two hundred years since the Industrial Revolution. During these two hundred years, people have lived a more and more prosperous life. Especially, now, with computers, people can wash their clothing, chat with friends online, search the information, microwave food, and so on furthermore, in about twenty years, it will be not only a dream to make robots which can help people do anything. However, with the industry advanced, people, meanwhile, contaminate the earth, including air pollution, water pollution, and garbage pollution. Also, recently, scientists found the fact that the temperature has been getting high and this fact led to the melting of icebergs, the migration of animals and climate change. In response to these serous problems, we should do something to save this environment before it is too late. First, we should cut down on the emissions of poison on gases. With the technology advanced, almost every adult in developed countries has his or her own car. Therefore, as long as we live in a city, we can see many people driving their car to go to their workplace in the morning and to leave from there in the afternoon on weekdays. Due to many cars on the roads, the amount of gas from cars is very huge, including CO2, NO and NO2. In answer to this, we should use the mass transportation system such as buses, subway frequently, or we take a ride in neighbor’s car to go working and next time so do they. Besides, I think that it is very important to legislate laws concerning car rationing. Second, we should be vegetarians. According to a latest research, a meat-free meal can cut back on about seven hundred and eighty grams of carbon emissions for one person, which means we can keep twenty three point seven trees from being cut down. Moreover, the more we eat vegetables and fruits, the more we are healthy. Furthermore, cows emit much methane to the air, which leads to global warming. Third, we should protect the species which is endangered. Because certain animals have some organs useful to human, humans hunt them in order to get the “treasure” such as tucks which can be sold at a high price. Or, because of the global warming, many animal habitats are destroyed, as makes many species go to die. Thus, the government should take action such as making laws and educating the children on animal protecting. Another, I have a special idea. On account of computers, more and more people spend too much time on them and this results I short-sightedness and the increase of power using. So I hope every one can go out to release the stress, not staying at home. Certainly, there are still many ways to save the earth such as turning off the switches of appliances and put 3Rs-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle into practice. To sum up, once we start to conserve our environment, we can live on the earth continuously, or we will die in 2012.
