In recent years, the drastic changes in climate have raised awareness about global warming. After watching the documentary, Plus or Minus 2 Degrees Celsius, I had an advanced understanding of miserable conditions all over the world and got more information of the climate effects in our country. Global warming which we should face immediately can’t be avoided by everyone in everywhere and it also let us knows that we should change bad habits in our life. When the climate becomes worse and worse, all we have to do is think “What is to be done.” As the effect like changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, sea level rise, and species extinction appeared in many countries. In view of the result from global warming, leaders from around the world sought to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. They also reached an agreement on a climate treaty and passed the bills in their country to decrease carbon emissions. By this way, they have combined economy with environment and tried to let them recover. On the other hand, many scientists and engineers are also coming up with effective ways to global warming. For example, they are developing low-carbon energy resources, recyclable daily commodities as well as energy efficient facilities. When they invented them, they not only improved the environment around us but also made a big step on modern technology. Most importantly, as movements will make a serious impact. In ever-where, we must put garbage classification and recycling into practice and refuse to use things which may pose a threat to our environment. We cannot do too much eco-friendly things for our earth. In addition to reducing the damage from our people, we should recreate the animative natural. Nowadays, people have over exploited in many places, especially tropical rainforests. So in many countries people give lands back to rivers and forests. They hoped the environment will recover what it should be and the drastic changes in climate will calm down. We also should not destroy the animal’s habitats and pick up garbage on the way which we passed by. As more people have become concerned about environmental damage, the concept of green architecture has gained in interest. People attempted to design their buildings so they use less energy resources and provide some good impacts to the environment. Though the schools and mass media, people are taking care about changes in climate. What people should do now is take immediate action so as to prevent the crisis from getting out of control. Energy conservation should be achieved by the government and individuals working together. We should not regard profit as our first; instead, we should take care of the earth and maintain a sustainable environment. Those who live in the earth have the responsibility to do this. After all, we have only one Earth. The importance of environmental protection cannot be overemphasized. The sentence, “What is to be done”, which is said in the Climate Conference is worthy of deep thought.
