An Encouraging Story May Greetings in Jesus name. I’m May Dela Cruz. I come from Philippine and I’m working here in Taiwan as a care taker. My story is based on my own experience. When I was 21 years old, I’m already a mother but without husband, and it was a very long story. It is really hard for me to be a single parent. I spent all my time for my son. I’m always thinking how I can live a better future for him. I work all the time and I’m still grateful because my family gives all their support for us. And I did not accept anything from the father of my son; I promise to myself that I can give a better life to my son without his support. I left my son when he was 4 because I went to Saudi Arabia to work and earn money. And it was very difficult for me. Almost every night I was crying, but I knew I needed to sacrifice. I worked there for 2 years. After my contract was over in Saudi, I came here to earn more money because in Saudi my salary was very little. Now it’s my second time here and after one year I will go home. I’m still hoping to come back again here to work and I’m looking for a new employer. For me, even though I work for my entire life, I think it’s not enough because I’m also a bread winner to my family besides being a single parent. It’s really hard for me but I don’t have any regrets for everything because I know God gives me all of these and I know he has reason for this. I just keep praying that He always helps and guides me. I think and I notice in this generation many young children have a sexual relation. Maybe this is because they watch too much of this in the movie or whatever. As a parent, I just want to give a simple advice to all the parents: If you can give enough time to guide and care your children, please give them your care. That’s all.
