A better world

Jennifer Shieh/Student/Cupertino High School

The world can surely be a better place if everyone would treat others fairly, respect others, and give in to the environment. We must live accordingly to the golden rule which states that one should treat others the way he or she would like to be treated.
If this rule is followed, the high number of crimes committed and death rates can indeed be reduced drastically. To show love to one another, we just need to be respectful of every person around us. Everyone is different and it is important that we can accept the opinions and beliefs of others to create a more peace oriented society. We are all born with our own human rights, and no one else can take that away. We need to learn to love one another; while when one thinks of loving one may usually think of showing displays of affection, there are really multiple ways to express this thing called” love” . The first step would be to accept each other and respect each other. Together, we can all live in peace by abiding to this intangible aspect of life called” love”. Another way to achieve a peaceful society is to help the environment, whether that means picking up trash or donating the charities or even other ways. This does not only help the Earth, but it also makes you feel good inside. I have had firsthand experience of such a feeling when I participated in several city cleanups during my sophomore year of high school. If all these tasks are followed, then we, together, can and will achieve a more peaceful Earth.
