Environment

We, as members of Earth the planet only have one Earth on which to live. There is no spare “earth”. So therefore we must be careful with the one we have. It is not like disposable forks, where if one gets dirty you can throw it away and get another. If the earth gets dirty or polluted, there is nowhere else to go. Environment safeguarding is the responsibility of all of us humans! Another example would be if one person made their room dirty, it only affects them, but if the person created a mess in the living room, that would affect many people. The Earth, in this case, is our living room. We can’t change it, but we can clean up the mess we have made and prevent future disasters form occurring. Certain current disasters, such as global warming, ozone layer depletion, and localized events such as oil spills and pollution are highly destructive and must be watched and prevented to ensure the future of our world. In the book “City of Ember,” the characters live in a shielded environment because nuclear holocaust has destroyed their surface world. Is that the kind of world we wish our descendants to live in?  do we wish for future generations to have to live underground, ashamed that this generation destroyed the planet to the extent that it has already?  However, there are solutions, we ca work together, resolve our differences, and walk forward into the light of the future, defending our homes, preparing our world to serve generations to come. It is only in this way that we can hold our heads high when we pass Earth to our following generation.
