Long ago, some time before the independence in our country there was huge discrimination between the people on basis of cast and creed. A person from schedule cast or schedule tribe was considered to untouchable. They were never allowed to touch a person from higher class. the were not even allowed to sit or stand straight in front of a higher class person .the only fault of such a person was that he took birth in such a family. Discrimination was there in everything starting from sharing water to going in temples. A very simple question rising was that, “Were they animals?” But somehow after independence it got a full stop and every common man got human rights. Not just in our country but in other nations also, especially in those who support democracy.

Human rights have been derived from principle of natural law. This law claims that society must recognize the human rights and provide these to the people. These are certain rights which must be provided to the individuals he is born as a human being.

Human rights were first certified by Britain in the Magma Carta in 1215. The Universal declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations on December 10, 1948 provides comprehensive protection to all against all forms of injustice. It also defines specific rights- civil, political, economic, social and cultural. Although human Rights are considered to be universal, a wide disparity exists in the implementation in developed a developing countries.

The constitution of India grants to its people civil, political and social rights fore improving their life through the provisions of Fundamental rights. It also lays down fundamental duties for all the citizens of the country.

Human rights are a very crucial fact to give every individual apart from his financial and racial status an equal status to enjoy equality and freedom. Human rights are the basic rights of every citizen of a country. The essence of human rights is to protect the weak against the poor. In our country, India, we all have certain human rights to enjoy ourselves without caring for any restriction and boundations.

There in favor of every individual. These are classified into following categories-

1-) First generation rights- This can be identified as the right to liberty and political rights, i.e., the right of an individual to remain free from arbitrary interference from state.
2-) this is for equality relating to protection of economic and social rights, such as-“the right to the creation of condition by the state that will enable all individual to develop their maximum potential”
3-) Third Generation Right-This is for the solidarity of human being to ensure an international legal and economic order”

Therefore promotion of human rights will definitely go a long way in attaining the goals of development and growth of nation. Human rights, if known and followed by people can bring rapid transformation in lifestyle.
