An increase in pollution is making life tough for the common man, while also making it very difficult for other animals to survive. The situation has become so bad that many species are on the verge of extinction. An organization, International Union of Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources, works for the various environmental causes. According to a report issued by the organization, 687 species of plants and animals are facing the threat of extinction. In 2008 this number was 659. 28 species have become a part of this list within a year

The problem of water pollution is also increasing at a rapid pace. In cities, the disposal of industrial garbage is not taken seriously. The easiest places to dump them are rivers. As a result, no longer remain clear, but become a drain. The Ganges and Yamuna are apt examples of the same.

The extinction of species is a wakeup call for us. The negative impact of such a scenario is now visible. Any extinction simply means a disturbance or imbalance in our ecosystem. All species form a complete cycle. If one goes missing the complete cycle will collapse. Everyone will pay the price for this.

The felling of trees has contributed a shocking 15% of carbon emission. Global warming is a man-made hazard. 95% of the people believe we are sole cause of it. These figures have been established from studies conducted at Edinburgh, Melbourne and Victoria University.
Times online report illustrates the extent of human impact on the climate. Apart from global warming the increase in salinity of seas, the irregular rain pattern and the squeezing arctic sea are all man-made problems.

According to the international organization for migration an estimated 20 million people will be forced to migrate by 2050. Many organizations fear this number may exceed to 70 million. By 2050, 8% of these will suffer from the effect of pollution.

We must understand that what we do today will bind back to us and others in future. Only if we adopt a lifestyle which adores Mother Nature, can we save the future.

The present and the future are determined by man’s action today, but the whole community will face these consequences.
