Protect Environment

A clean and healthy environment is part of the wealth and quality of life that we desire. People demand that the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the food we eat is free of pollution and contaminants, they want to live undisturbed by noise and they want to enjoy the beauty of the countryside unspoiled  countryside coastlines and mountain areas. Healthy and balanced natural systems are essential for supporting life on this planet. Society relies on nature to provide us with the resources for our survival. In recent decades, there has been a growing realization that the quality of air, water, soil, affect the quality of our health.

Nowadays, protection of the environment is very important, as the world is moving into a new era without considering any of the major problems of pollution with rapid industrialization.  The best way to protect the environment is conservation. Conservation is the policy of managing the environment to assure adequate supplies of natural resources for future as well as present generations. Tropical forests are being destroyed at an ever increasing rate. Estimates of the extent and rate of loss vary, but it appears that nearly half of the world’s tropical forests already have been lost and the remainder with all but disappear in the next two-three decades. These forests provide habitat for an estimated half of the world’s plant and animal species, provide water and fuel for much of the world’s population.

Nature needs balance. It can repair itself only if damage is limited, but the way we are destroying the biosphere today, the whole balance is disturbed. Today most of the agriculture is possible only after adding huge amount of chemical fertilizers to the soil which further degrades the soil. But the important issue at hand is to realize the danger of what we are doing to nature today and try to improve the situation. Another issue called extinction has to be realized. If all tigers and lions for eg, were to become extinct, deer and similar creatures which are mainly hunted by lions would multiply and crowd the ecosystem and create chaos in the food web. With rapidly emerging modern lifestyle, people have become blind towards their environment. Due to rapid urbanization and industrialization demand for more luxury and material things is increasing and to fulfill these demands natural resources are being exploited ruthlessly.
