What Is to Be Done to Save the Earth

The film "±2℃" portrays that the widespread of fossil fuels has helped people create countless technological innovations over the past hundreds of years, and that however, emissions of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels have resulted in global warming and brought about drastic climate changes. The film also demonstrates that a mudslide and downpour triggered by Morakot buried a village and left hundreds villagers dead, most low-lying areas in the world face inundation due to sea level rising, and that it is incredible a mature polar bear eat its own child to ease starvation owing to shortage of food. They warn us that we must stop exploding natural resource and make a sincere dialogue with the planer. "Yes, we can! Act now!" says Mr. Obama, America President, who posses charisma. What we should do now is take immediate actions so as to prevent the crisis from getting out of our control. So, what is to be done?

1. We should do our best to conserve energy and decrease our emissions of carbon dioxide.

2. Scientists should develop alternative energy sources and looking for ways to replace petroleum and generate energy from renewable resources such as solar, wind etc.

3. Governments should come up with a practical solution to achieve economic and environmental recovery. They may invest a lot of money in the development of green energy. Besides, they can also implement laws to limit the amount of greenhouse gases.

4. Business should improve and assist the construction of modern incinerators or green buildings. Of course, as the industries, factories and a great deal of hardworking from workers are bringing them wealthy, business giants should do their best to reduce carbon footprint.

5. Developed countries should help developing countries deal with climate changes financially and technologically. In a word, creating a sustainable is the responsibility we should take for our future generations.

"±2℃" had been broadcasting pictures of magnificent scenery around the world from one photo to another during the tail of the film. The idea of "Conquer Nature" shall be eliminated. When Nature fights back, its revenge is slow but sure, and it can be cruel and merciless. Last but not the least, as members of global village, we have to realize the potential risks of global warming and achieve consensus to make an acceptable compromise among nations. Human beings should do everything possible to throw their interest and disinterest away as well as promote the sustainability of our environment!
